Deadpool and Korg reacted to Ryan Reynolds' 'Free Guy' trailer and the internet can’t get enough (VIDEO)

Deadpool says the trailer looks “fun in a last-days-of-Fox firesale kind of way.”

Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi sat down to review ‘Free Guy,’ a film starring Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi, to be released this August.

The Merc with a Mouth sat down with the hulking but soft-spoken Korg to review Ryan Reynolds' upcoming movie Free Guy and they seemed, hilariously, less than impressed.

In a YouTuber-style reaction video uploaded to the Vancouver movie star’s YouTube page, every frame was dripping with self-awareness and irony. Deadpool starts the video off by referencing a previous (non-existent) reaction video he made of Cruella and asked the question on the minds of many: “Where are the f****** dogs?” Then, Deadpool spoke about the Free Guy trailer he would be reacting to, adding he thought the film came out a year ago -- a not-so-subtle reference to the constant delays that plagued the film’s release date.

Soon after, Korg is introduced as the show’s “guest reactor” who was apparently not Deadpool’s first choice but was the best he could get as “everybody was too busy on Disney+.” Korg of course is the mountainous and charming companion to the God of Thunder in Marvel’s 2017 blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok. The presence of Korg and the fact he is a Marvel character means to many that this is Deadpool’s introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a big piece of news as the character's rights were held by 20th Century Fox up until March 2019.

The trailer kicks off with Reynolds' character Guy introducing himself, prompting Deadpool to comment on the obvious relationship between the movie’s protagonist and the title. At first, Korg is delighted by the cleverness of the naming scheme but questions himself almost immediately after.

The trailer continues until Deadpool pauses to let the audience comment “first” or “this trailer gives away too much” or “Ryan Reynolds is just [Deadpool]”, which by the way Deadpool says is very insulting.

The pair watch on until they see Free Guy’s female lead played by Jodie Comer and they pause to fanboy for a minute. Deadpool hopes she isn’t “fridged” in the film, what he describes as “the practice of killing off or hurting a female character in order to motivate or torture the main character, otherwise known as Deadpool 2.”

Korg, played by Taika Waititi, is then given the opportunity to give his thoughts on Free Guy’s villain, played by Waititi. Disappointed by Korg’s vanilla response, Deadpool asks in an accusatory tone, “You have a Disney+ show don’t you f***face?” And, well, yes Mr. Pool, Waititi does have The Mandalorian still to produce.

In the end, Deadpool says the trailer looks “fun in a last-days-of-Fox firesale kind of way,” although he’s not sure if it was worth diverting “Canada’s Cumberbatch” away from the next Deadpool movie. Ultimately Deadpool gives the trailer a whopping four out of five avocados.

In the last few moments, Deadpool asks Korg for any tips on getting into the MCU. Korg responds with a rather dark monologue.

“Have a dream, chase it, lose that dream, just sabotage all sorts of happiness in the pursuit of that dream climb up to the peaks of that mountain and when you get to the top land at the bottom and realize you’re never gonna achieve that dream and at that point check your emails. Maybe you’ll get something from your agent saying Marvel wants to talk,” Korg explained.
