Vancouver comedians are coming together to save a local kitty.

Local stand-up comedian Brett Martin's cat, Stanley, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Mast Cell Tumor. Martin was planning to sell his car to pay for Stanley's expensive, life-saving surgery, which the comedian couldn't otherwise afford.

When a group of Vancouver comedians got wind of the news they decided to come together and help save the kitty by hosting a night of stand-up comedy that will raise money for the surgery.

Along with Brett Martin, Vancouver comedians Yumi Nagashima, Alex Mackenzie, and others, many of which have been featured on CBC and prestigious comedy festivals Just For Laughs and Winnipeg Comedy Festival, will be taking the stage, making people laugh, and helping out Stanley.

The fundraiser show, "Save Brett's Cat," will take place at the Loft Lounge on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. and all proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Stanley's surgery. Any additional proceeds will go to BC SPCA.
