Locals share snaps of Jennifer Lopez filming in Vancouver (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

A local also shared a video of Lopez filming a kidnapping scene in the city.

Vancouver residents may spot Jennifer Lopez filming the Netflix thriller The Mother in the upcoming weeks starting on October 8, 2021.

"Jenny from the block" was spotted on a couple of Vancouver's city blocks this week. 

Popular singer, actress, producer, and dancer Jennifer Lopez is in town filming a Netflix thriller called The Mother that also stars Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare In Love), Omari Hardwick (Power), and Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mamá También). 

Lopez plays an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter that she gave up while she was on the run from dangerous men, according to Variety.

Earlier this week, a resident notification letter from production company Great Lakes Pictures ULC alerted locals that scenes for the upcoming movie will be filmed in a couple of locations in the coming weeks. 

Now, a New Westminster resident has shared a couple of videos of Lopez on set. In one of them, she acts in a kidnapping scene in Victory Square in the Downtown Eastside. In another scene, the actress holds a sniper rifle. 

He also shared images of a woman who is reportedly J. Lo's stunt double.

Another local shared a photograph of the actress sitting in the parkade and a video of the set in Victory Square.

Jennifer Lopez to continue filming in Vancouver

Filming is slated to continue over the course of several days in a couple of locations in the city including 200 West Hastings and 150 West Pender from approximately 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Oct. 8 to 10 and Oct. 12 to 15. 

One of the scenes calls for "high-speed vehicle movement" on the 200 block of West Hastings, the 400 and 500 blocks of Cambie St., and the "lane south of 100 West Pender." Another scene calls for "simulated gunfire." 

There will be traffic closures but bus, pedestrian, and bike traffic will be permitted when the actors aren't filming.
