Dan Mangan is the "The greatest Canadian singer/songwriter that no American has heard of" according to actor Rainn Wilson (right).

Dan Mangan may not be the biggest rock star from Vancouver, but he's got some pretty famous fans.

One of them is Rainn Wilson (who played Dwight Schrute in the U.S. version of The Office, and recently published his third book Soul Boom: Why We Need a Spiritual Revolution).

Wilson had high praise for the Vancouver-based Mangan on social media this weekend, calling him "the greatest Canadian singer/songwriter that no American has heard of."

He was specifically referring to Mangan's latest release "Find New Ways," although he's also a fan of "Peaks and Valleys."

In response, Mangan replied: "Ah buddy thank you. Love ya pal."

The pair have connected many times before. Notably, Wilson, who grew up in Seattle and has shot projects in Vancouver, starred in Mangan and Blacksmith's music video for "Forgetery," which also starred Kirsten Slenning (Mangan's wife).

Wilson has shared Mangan's music with his social media followers several times in the past, once calling Mangan his favourite Canadian after the release of "Troubled Mind" and naming him "Canada's indie bard" upon hearing "Just Fear."

Mangan has also visited Wilson in L.A., and Wilson was part of a 2021 Comedy Bang Bang mockumentary called "Dan Mangan is the Least Cool Thing."
