One of Canada’s tallest trees, standing at 65 feet high, will be on display in the Fraser Valley this weekend.

Highstreet Shopping Centre is excited to announce their brightest holiday experience yet, partnering with PARK, a community-oriented organization dedicated to celebrating artists and local creatives, to bring guests a festive, immersive art and light installation.

The soaring Christmas tree will also be surrounded by colourful holiday murals and several 3-D handcrafted murals; there will also be a festive 75' candy cane runway adorned with hand-painted presents.

Holiday's at Highstreet takes place Saturday, Nov. 14 and promises to delight guests with its new, immersive neon light and music activation display called Illuminate. With music mixed by DJ Joash Charles, guests can download the track in advance so they will never miss a beat during their session.

This project is in collaboration with four local artists: Tierney Milne, The Wkndrs (Claire Ouchi & Rachel Rivera), and DJ Joash Charles. All of the installations were designed with small groups, low touch, and public health in mind, to give guests and their families a safe way to get in the holiday spirit.

“Shape Properties has garnered a reputation for creating innovative and thoughtful experiences and environments across our portfolio. During this time, when events and family entertainment is limited we are looking for new ways to provide safe holiday festivities for our guests, while supporting members of the creative community,” says Caley Denton, EVP Operations and Marketing, Shape Properties.

In addition to their Illuminate experience, visitors will take in a series of modern vignettes and murals designed by Vancouver-based artists Tierney Milne and The WKNDRS. These large-scale, vibrant candy cane hued vignettes will provide plenty of photo-worthy opportunities for families this year.

With COVID 19, organizers underscore that Illuminate can be enjoyed by appointment only with members of the households being able to pre-book and enjoy safely together.

Keeping COVID-19 at the forefront, all guests will be required to reserve a time slot for their Illuminate experience, here. For the convenience of guests, time slots will be available 7 days a week (hours available online). Additionally, cleaning will be done in between each session in order to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all.
