A 2020 flamingo car rally fundraiser is being rebooted by The Madison Group of companies and all donations will be triple matched.

The Madison Group of companies which includes The Madison Group, Madison Pacific Properties, and Glacier Media (V.I.A.'s parent company) are participating in a fundraiser for Covenant House Vancouver (CHV) called the Mega Flamingo Reboot.

Back in 2020, the friends and family of a local psychiatrist, Megan Roberts, put together a birthday surprise that turned into the largest DIY community fundraiser that CHV has ever had.

Roberts had stage four cancer and was celebrating her 44th birthday during the height of lockdown in Vancouver so her loved ones arranged a COVID-safe activity. Each time someone donated to CHV they were entitled to a pink plastic flamingo which they then placed on Roberts' front lawn with a message.

Passerby's wanted to know what was going on and they donated too, eventually raising $66,623.

CHV is a critical outreach non-profit for high-risk youth aged 16 to 24. The organization provides social workers who coordinate individualized, integrated services, deliver meals, and run crisis programs and shelters.

The Madison Group is 'rebooting' the fundraiser and promising to triple-match each contribution. The money raised with benefit CHV's Rights of Passage program which endeavours to provide young people with safe, affordable housing as they transition to independent living.

Now until Dec. 31, 2022, each $1 donation will provide $3 to CHV. People can find the fundraiser page here and all donations are eligible to receive an automatic receipt for tax/giving purposes.
