Right in front of your nose in Vancouver. #nonsecrets

Earlier today I sent this tweet out from our main Twitter account which I manage: Longtime Vancouver residents, what's one awesome thing you've only recently discovered? Mine's jogging the seawall. I finally get it.
Earlier today I sent this tweet out from our main Twitter account which I manage:
The sentiment was simple: share with us something that might be very obviously fantastic but which maybe you didn't quite "get" before. I've lived in this city for more than 10 years and until recently I saw people running the seawall but I never appreciated how TOTALLY AWESOME it is to do that. It hinged on my first discovering the joy of running in general, and now that I run the seawall often I felt like I had to share what only now seems like an obviously awesome thing: to be able to go for a run next to the ocean, breathe in that air, and have fantastic views of our city and the mountains. To think it was right in front of my nose all along. Kate Wienburg followed up my original tweet by sharing this photo below of "a great place to watch sunset. The jetty at Spanish Banks.". I can only imagine that it's near her house, and maybe she just hadn't discovered its awesomeness until recently. Jason Knibbs then shared this "secret" he recently discovered:
What have you only recently discovered in your city? Share it with us on Twitter. Tag @VIAwesome and #nonsecrets when you do. I'll do my best to include it in a future blog post like this one.
