The Rolling Stones will play Vancouver in 2024 on new North American tour

The band was due to play Vancouver back in 2020, know what happened.
The Rolling Stones announced their 2024 "Hackney Diamonds" tour in support of their new studio album of the same name. The iconic rock band plays BC Place in Vancouver on July 5, 2024.

Sometimes teasing turns out to be rooted in truth. Case in point: The notion that iconic British rockers The Rolling Stones would include Vancouver on an upcoming tour.

The legendary rock group announced its "Hackney Diamonds Tour" on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Starting on April 28 in Houston and concluding in Santa Clara, California, on July 17, the Stones will make their way across the U.S. and Canada.

The tour hits 16 major cities, including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Denver, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

The Rolling Stones will play BC Place in Vancouver on Friday, July 5, 2024.

Fans can expect to experience Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood play their most popular hits ranging from “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Satisfaction” and more, as well as fan favourite deep cuts and music from their new album, describes the Rolling Stones on their tour announcement.

Stones' new tour sponsored by org for older people

By the time the Stones hit the stage at BC Place next summer, frontman Jagger will be just a couple of weeks shy of 81, while guitarist Richards will be 80. Wood remains the youngster of the surviving bandmates; he'll turn 77 ahead of the Vancouver Stones show in 2024.

The Stones last performed across the U.S. in 2021 for their No Filter tour, marking the first time the band had toured without drummer Charlie Watts since 1963. Watts, the self-effacing and unshakeable Rolling Stones drummer who helped anchor one of rock’s greatest rhythm sections, died in August 2021. He was 80.

The "Hackney Diamonds Tour" is, suitably, sponsored by the AARP, which is the American Association of Retired Persons.

Rolling Stones had planned a 2020 Vancouver tour stop

In 2020, The Rolling Stones were set to play BC Place on May 12 as part of their planned "No Filter" tour. The date was ultimately scrapped due to the pandemic.

The band, whose studio album Hackney Diamonds was released Oct. 20, 2023 to critical praise, will rock BC Place five months ahead of the world's current touring music megastar, Taylor Swift, who plays a trio of shows at the stadium in early December 2024 as part of her global Eras Tour.

Tickets for the Stones' North American Hackney Diamonds tour go on sale on Dec. 1.
