In a cosmopolitan city like Vancouver, there's plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Though the city has shaped its own cultural neighbourhoods over time such as Little Italy and Chinatown, its ethnic makeup comes from all over the world. Sharing a city means sharing cultures and with summer luring residents outside, we've rounded up all the cultural festivals happening in Vancouver this summer. 

Vancouver Francophone Summer Festival

The all-things-francophone festival will be a week of concerts and international francophone music

When: June 15-25, 2022

Where: Studio 16 - 1551 West 7th Ave

Vancouver Bach Festival

This year's Bach Festival explores the fusion of Scottish traditional music and music of 17th century Baroque masters. The audience will hear traditional melodies played at various venues, from a cathedral to a botanic garden to a Celtic pub. 

When: July 26 to August 6

Vancouver Greek Film Festival

Vancouver's first Greek Film Festival is happening this summer and will bring together contemporary and classic Greek films for viewing and celebrating as part of Greek Heritage Festival.

When: June 16-19

Where: The Cinematheque - 1131 Howe St

Greek Day on Broadway

The largest one-day Greek festival is a grand finale to the Greek Heritage Festival that happens throughout June. Nearly one kilometre of West Broadway will be closed off for Greek food and drinks, vendors, and entertainment that showcases and celebrates Greek culture.

Where: West Broadway, from MacDonald Street to Blenheim

Italian Day on The Drive

This popular street festival includes over 120 participants, from vendors to organizations, and stretches across 14 blocks of Commercial Drive's Little Italy. There's also a chance to win close to ten thousand dollars and two trips to Italy by raffle.

Carnaval del Sol

Vancouver's Latin American event is here for the summer to celebrate the culture and community with food, workshops, performances, activities and more.

When: July 8-10

Where: Jonathan Rogers Park

Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival 

A celebration of Taiwan, this festival will bring in 16 music and dance groups from Taiwan and Canada plus other programs featuring Taiwanese cinema, art, food and a photo booth with balloon twisting.

When: July 1-3

Where: Vancouver Art Gallery (North Plaza), Vancouver Playhouse and Annex Theatre.

Chinatown Festival

The weekend is filled with music, dancing, contests, food, and activities to celebrate Chinese culture and traditions.

When: July 16-17

Where: Chinatown - 100 Keefer St
