Keen-eyed Swifties around the globe were glued to their screens to catch any and every hint superstar Taylor Swift may have dropped during her last performance ever of her record-smashing Eras Tour.
The final show happened on December 8, 2024 at BC Place in Vancouver, capping off a three-night run of concerts by the music icon.
With all of the costumes a three-peat thanks to the cameras recording some kind of yet-to-be-revealed filmed project, there were fewer opportunities to catch Swift drop any Easter Eggs.
As the fandom knows, Swift is a "Mastermind" at offering clues of all kinds that could lead to future endeavours. Swift has used parts of music video sets and costumes, speeches, her own outfits, gestures, and numbers to signal what might be next.
On December 8, Swift ended The Eras Tour in Vancouver with one huge hint that had fans guessing that she was signalling the official end of an era.
Instead of exiting the stage by sinking below the floor on an elevator lift, Swift walked through an orange door placed in the centre of the stage's back wall.
It wasn't until August 13, 2025, when Swift made her first-ever podcast appearance on New Heights, hosted by boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason, that the pop star confirmed that small change was, indeed, an Easter Egg.
During the two-hour podcast, which has had over 11.8 million views on YouTube alone in its first less-than-24-hours, Swift officially revealed the name and release date of her next studio album.
'I was pretty proud of [the fans] for noticing'
The Life of a Showgirl will come out on October 3, but Swift admitted to the Kelce brothers she's been in her new "era" since the last night of The Eras Tour.
"We've talked about Easter eggs before," says Jason. "And at the very last Eras Tour, you didn't take the lift."
"You went upstage and exited through an orange door," Jason continues.
"Did you see that the fans noticed this?" replies Swift. "Because I was pretty proud of them for noticing that."
After reiterating how the last Vancouver show featured a deviation from the usual stage exit, Swift says: "And, um...that actually was an Easter egg."
"Basically, the reason why I chose to exit that way is because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving The Eras Tour era, but I was also entering a new era."
Orange has long been pegged as the colour of what's been referred to as "TS12" (for Taylor Swift's 12th album, not counting the re-records she issued between 2021 and 2024), and that same door showed up on Swift's website ahead of the album announcement on August 13.
"Is it Over Now?" (Yes)
Though fans had speculated Swift's December 6, 7, and 8 shows in Vancouver might not be the end of the tour, by the time she walked through the door after the last song, "Karma," it was indeed over.
It's hard to say at this point if Swift intends to tour again anytime soon, and, if so, if Vancouver will be among the lucky stops.
Fans are still hoping to learn what the filming in Vancouver was for, and are still delighted she took her last moments on the Eras Tour stage to drop such a great Easter egg for the "TS12" era.
