Grab your bikes and glow sticks because Vancouver is hosting a bike rave in Granview Park tomorrow night, August 27.
"Bikes + Lights x Night = BIKE RAVE 2022" is an unofficial event that seeks to gather together with their wheels, a Bluetooth speaker, and a lot of colourful lights. The event organizer suggests wrapping battery-powered rope lights around the frame of your bike.
In the past, a yearly bike rave has been hosted by the non-profit Party4Health to encourage fun without the use of drugs and alcohol but this year's ride appears to be led by an independent cycling enthusiast who wants to keep the theme going. Similarly though, the event organizer for this weekend's bike rave also asked attendees, "please do not consume alcohol or drugs before or at this event" via the events Facebook page. It adds, "you are responsible for your own safety and everyone is responsible to keep others safe."
The rave will take place in the middle of Grandview Park (there's a photo of the exact location on Instagram) from 8 p.m. to midnight and is open to everyone.
