Vancouver-born actor Ryan Reynolds will host the exclusive Met Gala with his wife, actress Blake Lively, this spring.
Academy Award-winning actress Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) and veritable entertainment renaissance man Lin-Manuel Miranda (In The Heights, Hamilton) will host the annual fundraising gala with Reynolds and Lively.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City announced the hosts on Thursday (March 17). The event is the museum's biggest source of funding.
The Costume Institute's gala takes place on May 2 and the theme is "In America: A anthology of Fashion," which is the "second part of a major two-part exhibition at the museum exploring the roots of American fashion," according to the Associated Press.
While it is typically held on the first Monday of May, last year's event was delayed to September due to the coronavirus restrictions in the city. The event was a "mini-gala" and the first part of the "In America: A anthology of Fashion."
Event attendees, which include an array of Hollywood elite and fashion moguls, must wear outfits that align with the theme for the annual offering.
