Vancouverites react to spectacular VanDusen Garden lights after two-year hiatus (PHOTOS)

The lights at VanDusen are back on! 💡🎄
The Festival of Lights at the VanDusen Botanical Garden has been switched back on after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The festive lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden have been switched back on after two years of darkness.

Now in its 37th year, the Festival of Lights and it's over one million twinkling lights and themed displays are sure to get even the biggest of humbugs into the holiday spirit. At least, that sure appears to be the case as Vancouverites flocked to social media to share their experience on the festival's opening night.

To keep things COVID-safe, the event will swap out some previous activities and features, like the carousel and photos with Santa, in favour of some new experiences, like an illuminated rose garden display, a "letters to Santa" activity for children, and lots of food.

The Festival of Lights will run from Nov. 26 through Jan. 3. For ticket information, you can check out VanDusen's website.
