Fresh Express is recalling some salad products effective immediately, due to possible Cyclospora contamination.

Food contaminated with Cyclospora may not look or smell spoiled, but can make the person who digests it sick with a wide range of symptoms, including stomach cramps, watery diarrhea and nausea.

Retailers across Canada are taking steps to remove the product from shelves.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) encourages residents who purchased a Fresh Express product recently to check whether it is on the list of recalled products and if so, dispose of it.

The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation.
