Lotus Seed Vegan has closed its doors permanently. The casual restaurant shut the doors to its West Broadway location in mid-January 2024.

After years of selling vegan and vegetarian dishes in Vancouver, along with a few food products, Lotus Seed Vegan has closed permanently.

"With a heavy heart, we share the news that Lotus Seed Vegan will be closing its doors after decades of shared moments and nourishing connections," write the owners on a social media post.

They made the announcement on Jan. 15, one day before they permanently closed the location at 736 West Broadway.

"We extend our deepest gratitude for your support over the years," they state. "Though our paths may diverge, we hope to serve you in different capacities on this shared journey of well-being."

While the restaurant on Broadway had only been open since 2018, Lotus Seed Vegan had been open for years at 3665 Kingsway prior to that.

Along with the restaurant, they sold a series of vegan foods, like mung bean and hempseed batter, and walnut pesto sauce.
