Squamish's beloved fried chicken and Mexican joint has closed

A staple along Highway 99 into Squamish is eyeing a change of scenery.

Mag's 99 Fried Chicken and Mexican Cantina is flying the coop and going mobile. Owner Melody Magheon told The Chief that Mag's 99 is opening a food truck within the next week as the current location closed this week.

A schedule and location list will be made available soon, she said, adding the new location will be bigger and brighter.

While the restaurant's new location has not been disclosed, it will be on Commercial Way, in the business park.

Magheon said more details will be announced soon.

General manager Aaron Lawton did not return several requests for comment from The Chief.
