Banana Leaf is a Malaysian restaurant with four Vancouver locations. First opened in 1995, the business is now set to open in South Surrey.

For nearly 30 years, Vancouverites have been flocking to Banana Leaf locations around the city to enjoy the restaurant's Malaysian food. Now Banana Leaf is gearing up to open outside of the city proper with a new location in South Surrey.

Located at 450-3099 152 St in the Southpoint Exchange Shopping Centre, Banana Leaf recently announced its Surrey outpost would be ready to start serving guests with take-out and delivery in early November.

Currently, Banana Leaf's plan is to add dine-in for South Surrey customers in early 2023.

The Malaysian restaurant is moving into the shopping plaza space formerly home to a place called Panda Szechuan.

Banana Leaf launched in Vancouver in 1995 and is known for its Malaysian classics, like Laksa, Nasi Goreng and Rendang Beef.

The menus are largely similar at each of its current four Vancouver restaurant locations (Broadway, Kitsilano, Robson, and Davie), however, they all offer lunch, happy hour, daily specials, drinks, and multi-course tasting menus in addition to a regular a la carte menu for dinner.

Menu specifics about Banana Leaf South Surrey have not yet been revealed.
