Here's what new restaurant is moving into the old Milestones on Cambie

The space is getting some changes!

2425 Cambie St in Vancouver, the former Milestones Crossroads location, is under renovations for the new tenant, Seaport City Restaurant. Milestones closed in Nov. 2020.

In the fall of 2020, parent company Recipe Unlimited shuttered the Milestones location at 2425 Cambie Street, signalling the end of an era for the Vancouver-born chain.

The space in the Crossroads development is now seeing some construction activity, with renovations underway to transform the upper-level retail space to make way for its next tenant, something called Seaport City Restaurant.

Thanks to its second-level setting, the former Milestones Crossroads boasts beautiful views of the North Shore mountains. The "high exposure" 8,307-square foot restaurant space in the 2009-built location, which tops Whole Foods, was sold in August 2020, according to listing agent Colliers.

There will be a few changes to the old Milestones layout for Seaport City, which includes removing a bar area and changing up the floor plan, adding a new private dining area and expanding an existing private dining area, as well as expanding the kitchen.

The changes will mean the occupancy limit will jump to 260.

So far Seaport City Restaurant doesn't have a presence online, so it's not clear who is behind the project or what the concept is, though it does seem to be something along the lines of a seafood-focused Chinese restaurant specializing in events and large groups.

The first Milestones restaurant opened in 1989 in Vancouver's West End. By November 2020, there were no more locations of the Canadian chain within the City of Vancouver. With a company emphasis on operations in suburban communities, Milestones has Lower Mainland restaurants in West Vancouver (Park Royal), Langley, South Surrey, Surrey (Guildford), Coquitlam, and Tsawwassen First Nation (Tsawwassen Mills).

We'll share an update with more information about Seaport City Restaurant as soon as we can.
