A little taste of Vegas in the West End

Vegas Donuts is opening up another location, this time the donut maker is adding a location in Vancouver's West End.

Vegas Donuts has only been open just over a month, but plans are already in motion for a second location.

The donut shop's second store is being planned for the Robson Public Market at 1610 Robson St. in Vancouver's West End, according to the city's business licence database.

That location was recently vacated by Simit Bakery, which shrank from three cafes to one location earlier this year.

Vegas Donuts is the creation of Mike McBean and his brother Steve; it's based on the donut shop their grandparents owned and operated in Las Vegas.

"My grandparents are no longer around; we wanted to carry on the legacy," McBean told V.I.A. in a previous interview.

The brothers have created a variety of donuts based on Las Vegas stars and Americana, like the Jack Lemon or Cherry Lewis. There are also some more exotic flavours; notably, one is dill pickle and cream cheese.

"You'd think it's a little wild at first, but it's actually quite delicious," McBean previously told V.I.A.

They also have fritters (with rotating flavours), donut holes, and donuts-in-a-cup.

An opening date has not been announced for the new location.

@forkingawesomevia There is a new donut shop in Vancouver with colourful donuts with fun names and a Vegas theme. They have epic honey glazed, Long Johns, and fritters and little “golden nuggets” too! Our faves: the blueberry fritter and the pineapple cake donut. 🍩🍩🍩 #vancouverbc #forkingawesome #donuts ♬ I've Got the World on a String - Frank Sinatra
