Second Cactus Club for Coquitlam hiring for early 2023 opening

Casual dining chain plans new location in stand-alone building in parking lot at Coquitlam Centre with opening planned for early 2023.

The long-awaited second Cactus Club in Coquitlam is nearing completion.

On social media, Cactus Club has said it will open its new restaurant at Coquitlam Centre in early 2023 and is now hiring for all positions.

A hiring fair is also planned for Wednesday, Oct. 5,

The in-person hiring fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at the mall near Best Buy.

But you have to apply to register., the website states.

In 2019, Coquitlam city council approved a development permit for the restaurant chain to build a 10,130-sq. ft. standalone eatery at the south end of the mall property, facing the Barnet Highway.

Cactus Club, meanwhile, currently operates a restaurant at 101 Schoolhouse St. in Coquitlam.

Recently, the company decided not to open in the Amazing Brentwood mall expansion project, according to the developer Shape Properties. 

Cactus Club already runs three restaurants in Burnaby and has a relatively long history in B.C.’s hospitality industry.

The restaurant chain was started in 1988 in North Vancouver by Richard Jaffray, according to the company’s website.

In its first 25 years, Cactus Club Cafe grew to include 25 locations and employed 2,000 people.
