Sorry Coffee Co, which is a branch of apparel brand Kit and Ace, has opened its first Metro Vancouver cafe location. They've taken over a popular spot in Deep Cove.

Vancouver-based apparel brand Kit and Ace have opened the first local outpost of its Sorry Coffee Co. after successfully launching the cafe in Toronto.

Sorry Coffee Co. took over the Bluhouse Market & Cafe at 4342 Gallant Ave. in North Vancouver's picturesque Deep Cove some time ago, but did not officially operate as the new business until recently. Much of the interior alterations took place in late October of this year, with Sorry taking over fully in November.

While former tenant Bluhouse was known for its emphasis on sustainability, offering organic and locally sourced prepared foods and packaged items, Sorry Coffee Co. is all about the coffee-drinking experience, though they have carried over some of what Bluhouse was offering.

"Our mission is to create an unrivalled guest experience through coffee education, precision, and professionalism in order to be the best café in all of Canada without debate," indicates the brand on the Kit and Ace site.

Kit and Ace has pared down its brick-and-mortar retail footprint in recent months, and, locally, has streamlined its Vancouver base to offices and its adjacent Gastown shop. Bringing Sorry Coffee to Vancouver, and in particular the North Shore, was the endeavour of Kit and Ace CFO Melissa Kinnoch

"I ran into a beautiful spot that was available, added a fresh coat of paint, re-hired a fantastic team and ta-da, we’re now in business," describes Kinnoch on LinkedIn, adding: "The shop serves specialty coffee, espresso, and a range of locally sourced plant-based snacks. It's also got some tasty homemade treats like crepes and baked goods."

Sorry Coffee Co. in Deep Cove is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
