After more than six years in Vancouver's West End, Jingle Bao will be closing this summer.

The Chinese restaurant famous for its interesting and colourful bao will shut down at the end of the month, according to the business's OpenTable page.

"Thank you for supporting us, unfortunately we are closing our doors July 31st, 2025. Thank you for the incredi-bao time!" reads a short message.

The bao-focused restaurant opened in 2019 at 774 Denman St., and its menu included "supersize" bao and "colourful" bao.

"We would like the world to share the great experience of pork bun, a simple pleasure that we enjoyed for few thousand years beyond anyone’s imagination," stated the operators when it opened.

Along with the bao, there's also small plates (like wontons and spring rolls) and larger dishes (chow mein and orange chicken, for example).

The restaurant's location went on sale earlier this year.
