25-year-old man in hospital after being shot at Surrey house

Police are also looking into a vehicle fire about three kilometres away. They're trying to determine if the incidents are connected.

A 25-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the Whalley area on Wednesday evening. 

Surrey RCMP were called about reports of gunshots fired in the 13500-block 89 Avenue at about 5 p.m.

When officers arrived they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition. 

Then on Thursday morning, police were called to a report of a vehicle fire in the 13300-block 88A Avenue, about three kilometres from the shooting. 

Const. Sarbjit K. Sangha with Surrey RCMP says they’re still trying to determine if the scenes are connected. 

"Police are still working to determine a possible motive,” says Sangha. 

Investigators are looking for CCTV or dash cam footage near the 13500-block 89 Avenue between 4 and 5 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call 604-599-0502 and quote Surrey RCMP file number 2022-167759.
