A Kelowna driver captured a disturbing incident on dashcam video this week.

The driver following the pickup did not want their name published, but felt strongly enough about what he saw, and wanted to share it publicly.

The incident happened on July 4 at about 6:50 a.m. at Pandosy St. and Francis Ave. The video shows a driver swerving into another lane, appearing to target a crow, and striking it.

The video also shows two other crows taking off from the right side of the truck just before it swerves.

"Let alone that it’s just dangerous to decide to swerve into a turn lane, and I mean no indication just driving like a reckless idiot. I mean, if I did it and there were cops around surely I’d get pulled over?” said the reader who submitted the video.

"He went over a full lane. It's not like he just drifted, he went over right into the turn lane, it's just bad driving. Let alone killing an animal for no reason. He was driving perfectly straight the whole time.”

Castanet sent the video to the RCMP for their opinion.

“I’ve viewed the clip and can say that the actions of this driver to go out of their way to intentionally harm wildlife is both shocking and unacceptable," said spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski.

“Aggressive driving like this endangers other road users and beyond the obvious consequences, a driver could face a number of potential fines under the Motor Vehicle Act up to and including Drive Without Due Care,” added Terleski.
