Man charged with accessory to murder to return to court May 9

REGINA - A man charged with accessory to the murder of a woman in Oxbow made his first court appearance Friday in Regina provincial court.

Tyler Shaw, 27, of Gainsborough appeared by phone before Judge Noah Evanchuk in Regina. The Crown opposed release, and Shaw has been remanded to his next court date on May 9 in Estevan Provincial Court.

A second adult male was also taken into custody in Oxbow on April 25, according to RCMP, pending further investigation. No further details or the name of the second man have been released.

According to the news release issued Thursday by the RCMP, Carlyle RCMP detachment received a report of a potential homicide on Wednesday, April 24. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit then began an investigation including at the landfill, but RCMP were not able to locate human remains there.

The investigation continued, and on April 25 around noon an adult female was located deceased in a rural location in the RM of Moose Mountain. According to the RCMP, investigators do not believe there are any additional victims.

The victim's identity will be confirmed in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service; the death has been ruled as a homicide.
