Lawyers in the case still need to discuss a psychiatric assessment report.

A man accused of breaking and entering at an East Vancouver home and two attempted murders the same day could be looking at a not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder verdict.

Cordell Beau Theaker, 35, is charged with entering a house on East 41st Avenue on May 12.

He is also charged on the same day with attempting to murder two people with a hammer or a knife.

Court records show Vancouver provincial court Judge Jennifer Oulton ordered a psychiatric assessment of Theaker on Aug. 16.

Defence lawyer Eric Warren told Judge John Milne Oct. 13 that lawyers still need to discuss the report.

The victims cannot be named under a court publication ban.

The house where the crime took place is currently for sale.
