The first Chinese Canadian MP in this country’s history, Douglas Jung was elected by Vancouver Centre in 1957 and through re-election served until 1962. A Conservative in protest against the Liberals for their past racist legislation, Jung was also a Second World War veteran, a lawyer and a campaigner for enfranchisement.
