A sign that two years into the war Canada still needed troops, this 1941 recruitment centre in Victory Square (downtown Vancouver between W. Hastings and W. Pender) seeks to pull on patriotic heartstrings by its proximity to the cenotaph and the watchful gaze of Winston Churchill.
