Science World was recently named the most iconic building in Vancouver in a recent poll hosted by CBC Municipal Affairs reporter Justin McElroy.

It isn't hard to see why: the shimmering geodesic dome is the crown jewel of False Creek. With over 391 lights and 766 triangles, the dome lights up the waterfront at night, and shines brilliantly during the day. In addition, it has a massive Omnimax Theatre with seating for 400 people.

Now, the TELUS World of Science invites guests to explore the grounds free of charge this Saturday, Oct. 5. Presented by BC Hydro, the event allows guests to enjoy the permanent exhibits as well as the centre's newest exhibit, Cats & Dogs.

The new exhibit, presented by White Spot restaurants, aims to empower animal enthusiasts with knowledge about their furry best friends and allow them to explore the relationships between humans and animals and examine the role dogs and cats play in our culture and imagination.
