Images: 32-storey rental unit tower proposed for Vancouver's West End

It'll bring 180 units to the area, densifying the neighbourhood.

A new residential development may soon tower over the Burrard Bridge.

A 32-storey tower has been proposed for a property on Pacific Street near Thurlow Street, just above Sunset Beach.

"Taking advantage of the site's prime location within the West End neighbourhood, this project proposes to add much needed density," states the application, noting that the 180-unit building will have 36 below-market units and 144 rental units.

The tower is proposed for a section of Pacific Street that currently has a mix of heritage houses and mid-sized developments, including a nearby 21-storey tower. The property has a three-storey apartment building on it right now with 30 units.

Along with housing units, it'll have four stories of parking below street level, along with an amenity floor with outdoor space (including urban agriculture space and a children's play area) and inside space (for a gym, yoga area and lounge).
