Vancouver police and firefighters teamed up to rescue a doggo in a perilous predicament over the weekend.

The Vancouver Fire Fighters IAFF Local #18 shared a video of a golden-colored pooch that had walked out of a balcony from an apartment and onto a very narrow ledge.

The frightened canine managed to walk out to the other side of the building before it laid down on the slim surface. Thankfully, a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) officer was able to coax the dog close to the balcony and then pull it up over the railing to safety.

"I’m sure we’ve all heard of [firefighters] saving cats from trees but [Vancouver police] saving dogs from balconies is a new one," commented the firefighter's local, adding that the rescue was a joint effort between the VPD and the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS).

Vancouverite Tina Logan commented that it is a "reminder to keep an eye on open windows and your pets when they are on the patio."

Firefighters often rescue pets from fires in the city. However, a firefighter recently helped rescue a tiny kitten was rescued after it was trapped on a Metro Vancouver property for four days.
