Two ceremonial lion dance costumes were seized by police in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

Vancouver police made an unusual find while patrolling the Downtown Eastside recently.

Officers seized a pair of ceremonial lion dancing costumes from someone attempting to sell them on East Hastings Street. The two costumes are used for traditional dances, often seen at Chinese New Year.

Police aren't certain they're stolen but are looking for the costumes' owner.

"We believe they are likely stolen. If you recognize them, or if these belong to you, please contact the Property Office," writes the police department in a tweet.

The property office can be reached at 604-717-2726. The file number is 21-185171.
