A familiar face is back at the Vancouver Golf Club (VGC).
This time, he'll be in the big office as well as the pro shop.
Brad Pinnell is set to begin his new role as the facility's general manager on June 1, which will mark a 22-year return to the Coquitlam course.
He started his golf administration career as the VGC's clubhouse manager from 1998 to 2000.
Now, Pinnell is coming back to the Tri-Cities after five years as the GM of TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley — Canada's first and only PGA Tour network facility.
According to the VGC, he led the transition of the Caldeon, Ont., 54-hole golf course to a tournament players club (TPC) level.
As a result, all three courses are currently included in SCOREGolf's Top 100 in Canada.
Pinnell's hiring announcement was made official on April 29 following a formal decision by the VGC board of directors.
"The Board is confident that Mr. Pinnell’s progressive experience in both the public and private club golf world will help elevate the membership experience at VGC," reads a statement from the club.
Before he ventured out east in 2017, Pinnell teed up a 12-year tenure as the chief operating officer at Vancouver's Point Grey Golf and Country Club.
He also served as COO of the private Edmonton Country Club for nearly three years.
The Vancouver Golf Club is located in Coquitlam's Austin Heights neighbourhood (771 Austin Ave.).
The 18-hole championship golf course was first established in 1910, is a par 72 and totals a length of 6,800 yards from the back tees.
