Did the Canucks captain really pay back a fan for a lost bet?

After a botched shootout, the fan was out $91.50 - so he shot his shot with Horvat.

Who's responsible for losing a bet?

One Canucks fan asked captain Bo Horvat to cover his losses after Horvat's unfortunate shoot-out attempt against the Nashville Predators. In the final play of the game Horvat skated down ice on his turn, only to lose the puck before firing off a shot. Horvat's mistake meant the Predators won the game.

After the game Horvat said the attempt "stings."

It appears to have stung one Canucks fan as well, who took to Horvat's Instagram account and left a comment on a post from Halloween.

"Man wtf was the shoot tonight I lost $91.50 cause of that...think you can etran me that back pal? [sic]" wrote @brian.murrayy.

A few hours later Horvat responded.

"@brian.murrayy send me ur info," he wrote.

Horvat's response got a lot of attention among fansbloggers, and sports media, who were split on whether Horvat actually sent the money.

And at the Canucks next game, in Ottawa, a fan brought a sign referencing the $91.50 and asking for a puck...which Horvat tossed over the glass.

As to whether the Canucks captain actually sent money to the unfortunate gambler, a Canucks spokesperson tells Vancouver Is Awesome Horvat "did not help any one" out with their bet.
