Vancouver Coastal Health has issued a COVID-19 public exposure warning for patrons of a Commercial Drive coffee spot.

Abruzzo Cappuccino Bar, also known as Cafe Abruzzo, is a gathering spot for watching international soccer, coffee, baked goods, and casual daytime Italian fare.

The health authority cautions that anyone who visited the cafe during the indicated times will need to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19:

Abruzzo Cappuccino Bar

  • Address: 1321 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
  • Potential exposure date(s): September 23 to 26
  • Potential exposure time: Between 1 and 3 p.m.

If you visited the indicated location during the times of possible exposure, it does not mean you will develop COVID-19. Possible exposures are believed to be low risk but, out of an abundance of caution, Public Health asks anyone who may have visited Abruzzo Cappuccino Bar at the specified date and time indicated to monitor themselves for symptoms.

If you have been identified as a COVID-19 case or close contact, please know that VCH Public Health will contact you directly and provide further instruction.

The most recent prior public exposure warning in the Vancouver Coastal Health authority was issued mid-month, and applied to visitors to Wreck Beach on Labour Day, Sept. 7, from early afternoon to the evening.

Exposure notices are active on the VCH site for a month and then archived.
