Did you go shopping at IKEA in September and accidentally lose a load of cash?

Coquitlam RCMP are looking for the rightful owner of the money, which is believed to have been dropped inside the Maillardville store in early September.

Police say an employee of the store, located at 1000 Lougheed Hwy., found the funds on Sept. 11.

To claim the cash from Coquitlam Mounties, you can call the detachment at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2022-29400. You will be asked to provide the denominations and details of how it was stored.

Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Alexa Hodgins is asking the public to call the detachment if a large sum of cash is discovered.

In the IKEA case, “the finder demonstrated genuine integrity by turning the money over to the police in the hopes that it could be returned to its rightful owners,” she said in a statement issued today (Nov. 14).
