A suspect has yet to be found after fleeing the scene of a hit and run in Port Moody early this morning (Oct. 26).

Several parked vehicles were damaged on 1900-block Charles Street, one block west of Barnet Highway, after it was determined a white BMW sedan truck collided with them around 2 a.m.

Port Moody police (PMPD) responded to the report from the residential neighbourhood and began searching for the driver upon arrival.

However, officers' efforts came up short, which included help from the Lower Mainland Police Dog Services unit.

"The investigation is in its early stages and we are working to determine what factors may have caused the collision," explains PMPD Const. Sam Zacharias in a statement.

Police are now asking members of the public who may have witnessed the hit and run to come forward with dash cam or CCTV footage.

Anyone with more information is encouraged to call the Port Moody Police Department at 604-461-3456.
