An 82-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the street at a crosswalk at Victoria Drive and Kingsway Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
First responders were called to the scene and rushed the man to hospital. Vancouver Police say the man had sustained serious injuries and died in hospital.
VPD Collision investigators believe the senior was crossing Kingsway, walking north on a marked crosswalk, when a southbound car on Victoria Drive made a left turn onto Kingsway and struck him.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The identity of the man that was killed has not been released.
Police say this is Vancouver's fourth traffic fatality of 2018 and three of the four victims have been pedestrians.
