An employee at another Metro Vancouver Real Canadian Superstore location has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Loblaw Companies Ltd, parent company of Superstore, provided the update to its COVID-19 employee case listings on Nov. 3.

The team member works at the Real Canadian Superstore located at 7550 King George Hwy in Surrey.

The last day the employee worked was Oct. 29.

Fraser Health has not listed the store as a possible COVID-19 public exposure site.

Loblaw says it shares updates about test-positive COVID cases in stores in order to maintain transparency.

The company further explains: “Whenever we have a positive case, we arrange for additional cleaning, and we work closely with the local public health unit to determine the appropriate next steps, including identifying and notifying close contacts. Anyone who meets that criteria from the store is asked to go home, self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.

“Generally, the risk to our customers remains low, due to the physical distancing and sanitization measures that have been in place in our stores for months. We post any positive cases on our website.”

Over the past several days, a number of new Loblaw-owned store employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The affected Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, and Loblaws City Market stores are located across the region, from Surrey to Whistler. Find specifics about those cases here.
