Fatal accident in Vancouver claims life of man

An 88-year-old man has died after an accident near Oak Street and 59th Avenue in Vancouver.

An 88-year-old man has died after a fatal collision Saturday night, Nov. 19.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m., according to Vancouver police, near the intersection of Oak Street and 59th Avenue when two cars, a grey Honda Accord and a green Toyota Corolla, collided.

The man, who was driving the Corolla, died at the scene.

Another person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are now investigating the incident. Anyone who saw the crash or who may have video footage of the scene is asked to call investigators. The collision investigation unit can be reached at 604-717-3012.
