Five people in Prince George were arrested but released after police seized homemade explosives, stolen property and weapons.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says yesterday (Oct. 1), Mounties executed a criminal code search warrant at a home on Boyd Street near First Avenue and Ospika Boulevard with police confirming it was the same home that police arrested priority offender Colin Durrand on Sept. 28

When police arrived, four men and a woman were found in the residence and arrested.

A stolen vehicle was confirmed in the driveway and a search of the home found ammunition, a prohibited weapon, gun parts and fentanyl.

Douglass says two small homemade explosive devices were also found.

The home was secured for safety reasons and all neighbours were notified.

The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit is attending the scene today (Oct. 2), set to remove and destroy the devices.

Those arrested were released at the scene pending further investigation and charge assessment from the BC Prosecution Service.
