Hint: It isn't cheap.

Looking for a cheap place to rent in Vancouver this March?

While there are some less expensive listings for rent on the market, the lion's share of available apartments costs significantly more than they do in other Canadian cities.

Zumper, an online rental company, has released average rental prices for Vancouver in March 2022. This month the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Vancouver is $2,200, which represents a staggering 16 per cent increase compared to March 2021.

With this in mind, the company notes that the average price to rent a one-bedroom apartment in the city has remained flat since last month; the average rent for a 2-bedroom apartment also remained flat since February.

The average rent for a studio apartment has also remained flat in Vancouver this month over last.

Quilchena was the most expensive neighbourhood to rent an apartment in the city, with one-bedrooms costing an average of $2,870. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Downtown Vancouver was the second-most expensive place to rent an apartment in the city, with average one-bedroom apartments costing $2,450 this month.

The Cambie and Mt. Pleasant neighbourhoods tied for third, with rentals averaging $2,350. Riley Park-Little Mountain had the fourth-most expensive apartments, with rentals averaging $2,145.

The West End rounded out the top five, with apartments averaging $2,100.
