You might be surprised how chilly it is expected to get, though.

The Vancouver, B.C. weather forecast calls for a great deal of sunshine over the weekend starting on February 11, 2022. Find out what is expected after that.

If you're sick of "raincouver," this weekend's forecast promises a sunny departure from the dreary weather.

But don't get too used to soaking in those golden rays.

Environment Canada is calling for a weekend full of sunshine and chilly overnight lows followed by several cloudy days and some rain at the start of next week.

Starting on Friday, Feb. 11, however, the forecast includes clearing skies with sunshine in the afternoon and a high of 8°C; temperatures are expected to dip down to 2°C overnight.

Saturday's forecast includes bright sunshine during the day with another high of 8°C. But the overnight low is supposed to dip down to freezing, so don't forget to dress warmly after the sunshine during the day.

Sunday is also expected to see some sunshine, albeit with some cloudy periods. The overnight temperature is expected to be significantly milder than the previous two nights as some clouds roll into the region.

The precipitation is slated to return Monday, with the federal forecaster calling for rain during the day and periods of drizzle overnight. However, the wet weather is expected to cease after that day, with the rest of the week looking decidedly cloudy but dry.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist told Vancouver Is Awesome in a previous interview that Metro Vancouver typically only sees one period of truly cold winter and that there are usually only one to three arctic air events per year. Moving forward, the region could have another cold-weather event in February or March; he doesn't see any extreme cold moving into the region in the 10-day forecast.

But arctic air that moves into the Lower Mainland in February or March won't be as cold as the temperatures the region saw in December, he emphasized. "That is impossible."
