I read a quote the other day that said, “This is not the year to get everything you want. This is the year to appreciate everything you have.”
On behalf of the New Westminster Ministerial, we certainly would want to meet in person and celebrate Christmas together, but understand this is not the year to do so.
In light of the quote above, we want to state that we appreciate the leadership of provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix assuring our health and safety.
These are challenging times and they had to make some difficult decisions on our behalf for which we are grateful.
Not gathering is indeed the loving thing to do, which is what Christmas exemplifies as Jesus came to earth, giving up His heavenly rights to reveal His love for us. Worship does not need to occur in a building and we can be grateful for the technology available to us so we can offer opportunities to celebrate this Christmas season.
