Main St. Station Farmers Market is kicking off the 2018 season this week with a special celebration.
In addition to launching another season of markets this Wednesday, it also marks the 10th anniversary of the Main St. Station market.
The festivities start at 1:45 p.m. Vancouver’s poet laureate Christie Charles of the Musqueam First Nation will share a traditional Musqueam welcome and history with attendees, and will sing and drum before the market officially opens for its 10th season.
Other special events includes a birthday cake for market shoppers from Livia Sweets and the first of a weekly series of drop-in vinyasa yoga classes at Thornton Park in conjunction with the market in June.
Main St. Station Farmers Market runs every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from June 6 until Oct. 3 at Main and Terminal.
