A man was spotted pacing inside of Canada Line train and banging a hatchet on its windows, says the Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

On Sept. 7 at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Transit Police received a report of a man onboard a Canada Line train at Broadway-City Hall Station pacing back and forth with a hatchet in his hand banging it on the windows, Cst. Michael Yake told Vancouver Is Awesome.

Eventually, the man placed the hatchet into his bag, exited the train and was observed walking back and forth on the platform, he explained. Within moments, Transit Police officers safely arrested the man outside the station and seized the hatchet.

"The actions of this man were completely irresponsible and had the potential of going very badly," he added. "Thankfully, in this situation, no one was hurt or seriously injured."
