Man found stabbed on Vancouver sidewalk dies; police seek witnesses

A 34-year-old man is dead after being stabbed. He was found bleedling on a sidewalk in Vancouver's DTES and later died in hospital.

Police are seeking witnesses after a 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.

The man was found around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, when a pedestrian walking along the south side of East Hastings between Columbia and Carrall streets saw him lying in the middle of the busy sidewalk, bleeding

The man succumbed to his wounds at a Vancouver hospital.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is now looking for witnesses to the homicide.

“This sidewalk is enclosed by a construction tunnel. We know there are witnesses who saw what happened and we are asking them to come forward,”  says VPD Const. Jason Doucette in a press release.

Anyone who saw something or with dashcam footage from the area at the time is asked to call the VPD's Homicide Unit at 1-604-717-2500.
