The following statement was issued by Sault Area Public Schools Superintendent Amy Scott-Kronemeyer.

Dear Sault Schools Families,

We were shocked and saddened by the tragic events that transpired at Robb Elementary School yesterday.

Our thoughts are with all those affected, and we acknowledge the bravery of staff, parents and community partners who reacted immediately to protect the students.

Our flags will be lowered to half-staff, in an expression of support to the community of Uvalde.

Although events like this are rare, we recognize the impact they can have on each of us — our children, staff, families and friends.

We have staff in each of our buildings that can help.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you feel your student needs additional support.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District and their families,

Amy Scott-Kronemeyer, Superintendent
