Metro Vancouver forecast shows 'pretty nice weather pattern' for early May

Light showers one day this week may be the only damp spot in the calendar

Sunshine will be coming this week in Vancouver.

This week looks to be one of the nicest so far in 2025 in Vancouver, so long as you like sun and warm temperatures.

Temperatures will be rising through Tuesday, May 6, says Environment Canada meteorologist Nan Lu, before a light disturbance on Wednesday. By Thursday, things will be sunnier again.

"I think it's actually a pretty nice weather pattern for this time of year," she tells V.I.A.

Sunday will remain mostly sunny with a light breeze. A high of 14 C is expected, making it the coolest day in the forecast.

"Through Tuesday, we'll see a gradual rising of temps, peaking Tuesday with a daytime high near 20 C," Lu says. "Inland it could reach 24 C."

Tuesday night some light clouds are expected to roll in.

"We have a weak disturbance across the south coast that could bring a chance of light showers," Lu explains.

That means grey skies and a 30 per cent chance of light showers, but nothing significant for Vancouver. The weak system (it could develop into a cold front or upper trough) will also keep temperatures mild.

Thursday and Friday are expected to be similar, with sun and a bit of cloud. Highs on Thursday are forecast to be around 15 C, while on Friday, things will be warming up a bit and hit a high of 18 C.

"There could be some clouds, but the timing is uncertain," says Lu of Thursday and Friday. No notable precipitation is expected.
