Transit fares in Metro Vancouver are increasing.

On Canada Day, TransLink will be increasing transit fares across Metro Vancouver.

Costs will rise across the board for transit users as everything from single-zone bus fares to monthly Compass Cards increases on July 1, 2025. All increases are more significant compared to 2024, too.

The sizable increases were predicted last year by the CEO of TransLink, Kevin Quinn, and approved this spring.

What are transit fares in Vancouver as of July 1, 2025?

Increases for single ride fares are rising by $0.10 to $0.25, or about 4 per cent.

Cash fares for adults will be $3.35 for one zone, $4.85 for two zones, and $6.60 for three zones. Contactless payments (via debit or credit cards, for example) are the same.

People who use Compass Cards with stored value will see fares move to $2.70 for one zone, $4 for two zones, and $5.10 for three zones.

Concession fares will rise to $2.25 for one zone, $3.30 for two zones, and $4.50 for three zones.

Day passes will now be $11.95 for adult fares and $9.05 for concession fares. They cover all zones.

Monthly Compass Cards are also increasing by about 4 per cent over previous costs. An adult pass for one zone will now be $111.60, a two-zone adult pass will be $149.25, and a three-zone pass will now be $201.55.

Monthly concession passes will rise to $63.80. They cover all zones.
